In it was the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. My advice is to skip this and read one of her novels like Delirio or Leopardo al sol, which I could not put down. Restrepo has been lauded by Garcia Marquez and You know how sometimes you read a story and then think, “Eh”?

Laura Restrepo is a Colombian writer. No parece haber remedio, pues, ni escapatoria posible. The mulhitud, who remains unnamed throughout the novella, tells us of her longing for Three Sevens, and in turn of his longing for Matilde Lina. Of all the Spanish authors I continue to find Restrepo’s books the most accessible.
